Our monthly OMF prayer meeting, this time held in Suphanburi.

Of course we finish with lunch.  This month is was sticky rice, chicken and papaya salad.

Teaching at Khok Sam Rong on Sunday, several students played hookey. Maybe that was because we've just started studying Job, and they all said it was very hard.

Church in the ER - Problem No 6

I was speaking in the morning at Lopburi Church on Sunday 21st September, and then in the afternoon, some of the folk stayed on for the lay leadership Training, on "Building up one another".

last week about 30 of us went to Bangkok for a ladies' retreat and Fri afternoon a small group of us went to a park in the centre of Bangkok, and hired bikes. The path around was about two and a half km, we went round 3 times.  I'd never been to this park before, there is always something new to see in Bangkok.

I was at the market last week, this is the first time I've seen live bugs which people choose from, have them fried in front of them, and then buy them to eat.

The cooks for the EFT CAMP

 

Last week - Thursday to Saturday there was a camp at Hang Nam, Chainat, Central Thailand, for the ladies of EFT (Evangelical Fellowship of Thailand).   Altogether there were about 200 ladies, and a few men who stayed on after bringing their wives along.  The Cooks Left to right - Kin kaew, Big and Ewl, three of my students from Khok Sam Rong.  

(I like it when they cook at these camps because I know they'll look after me if something is too spicy hot for me, they will make an alternative dish for me)

A Quiet place for a Quiet time

Looks like a nice place to sit and think!

This is a parable-like look at the church as a patient, facing sickness or disease, looking at the symptoms and causes, treatment and prognosis, so that we will have healthy, strong churches.  Some churches are in a bad way so that if they were people they would already be in the ER, fighting for their lives.If you have the time please could you read the posts and leave a comment, reflection or feelings on what I have written.  (including spelling mistakes or grammatical errors) I will be adding posts every few days, addressing the issues etc.

I was speaking at Lamnarai on Sunday, someone gave me a bunch (literally) of coconuts.  I took them back to Khok Sam Rong where I was teaching in the afternoon.  In no time at all the bunch was cut up, Auntie Toom chopped them up, (look at the knife!) and made them ready to drink the water inside.  Everyone wanted their own coconut and that was all that was left of coconut stalk.  The water was lovely - the flesh inside was good to eat too.  Never had a gift like that before.

This is Manja's favourite place in the evenings - sitting on my lap whilst I am trying to work, not sure if she's trying to encourage me or trying to tell me it is time to go to bed.

Preaching at Khok Sam Rong - Central Thailand

I suppose it was bound to happen sometime - went to Khok Sam Rong Saturday night to stay with my friend Big, she asked me "what are you preaching on tomorrow?"
I thought she was joking - they'd booked me as the speaker, but forgot to tell me. Praise the Lord for his help in having something to say by the time I stood up to speak.

The Harvest in Thailand

I didn't shut the car door completely - the interior light drained the battery.  I Was thankful for my power bank that jump starts the car too.  There wasn't a neighbour to be found!

Flat tyre quick repair

Had a flat tyre at church. Put the spare on. A couple of days later went to BQuik they had it fixed and back on the car in no time. Thanks guys.

Made a chocolate sausage for some fellow missionaries' farewell do, So glad it was all eaten, otherwise I may have had to bring some home, and you know what that would probably mean?     Yes - I'd have to eat it up. That would be an overdose of calories I'm sure!
